Mu Parlour

Everyone knows Holland Village houses quite a variety of food, and mostly are yummy-licious food!

I happened to come across this cafe called Mu Parlour, supposingly famous for its burgers. Thus, I decided to make my way in and let my tongue verify the fact.

First test to take on, "Thigh test". There is a relatively long flight of stairs before reaching the main entrance.

Upon entering the cafe, you will be greeted with an all white theme, and very simple yet bold colors in its design. Quite unique isn't it?

Now, the second test, "Mind test". Their items on the menu is quite limited, and hence, it kinds of limit your options. Yet, to those who are always indecisive, it seems like a great place as lesser items means lesser time needed to decide on your food?

It has been some time since I went to Mu Parlour, and thus I have forgotten the exact dish I had ordered. But I vaguely remembered we did ordered No. 97 - Chicken Patty, Mozzarella, Beetroot ($13). Hopefully the pictures taken are able to compensate for my forgetfulness :)

Third test, "Tongue test". We ordered 2 burgers, and honestly speaking, I am disappointed with the hype I had before testing. Both burgers tasted quite normal, and there wasn't any "X" factor to commend on. I simply thinks that Macdonald McSpicy burgers tastes much better.

Then, we decided to try their desserts. Oohh! In my opinion, desserts should be their signature. I wouldn't say it's the best, but definitely more marks awarded for it than their burgers. Looks of it already whet my appetite, and plus point for the taste! Somehow, a small portion of my disappointment from the burgers have been offset.

Let's have a look at the rest of their desserts. They have a variety of flavors to choose from, and I was a little indecisive at that point of time, as all looks interesting to me, yet my stomach has already been occupied by their "un-awesome" burgers.

I like their cashier display. It seems simple yet classy, and probably a nice "mirror" for ladies to check on their hair and makeup while the cashier is keying in the orders, etc, or when you are in the queue.

More pictures on their cafe layout and designs.

I have to emphasize, I love their design. Simplicity is always the best! And other than their white and red chairs, they also have wooden chairs like the olden days, and long chairs for "Royals" to be, such as the peacock-like bench frame placed against the wall.

It looks like a mini fish tank, and its simply cute and innovative!

The final test, "Verdict test'. I probably wouldn't consider coming back here again, unless I'm in that area, and wanted to be embraced with their design and enjoying their desserts, overlooking Holland Village road while seated by the windows.
