The King Louis Grill and Bar - Chapter Reopen

I have visited The King Louis Grill and Bar previously, on my own accord to try out their food, and was kinda disappointed.

When I was invited for food tasting, to be honest.. I was pretty hesitant. But I decided to give them another try since it's a weekday, and my workplace is just nearby. The PR helped us to order their signature dishes, thus I am not quite able to identify the names of the dishes...

Heading straight to the food, we had the Mushroom Soup ($8.90). As described by the PR, this soup consists of five mushrooms, and I find it thick and taste is just right! "Drenched" my bread with the soup, and it was down my stomach in seconds :P

Next came Teriyaki Chicken Salad ($13,80). Bite-sized tomatoes, with corns and chicken with sauce. Not being a tomato-liker from the start, I headed straight for the corn and chicken.. It is definitely a dish to go for. Recommended for weight-watchers?

Platter C ($21.90) consisting of chicken wings, potato wedges, calamari rings, prawn twisters, and one of their supposing-signature banana wrapped with bacon strips. I have no qualms about this dish, except for the banana wrapped with bacon. It is as I had before, banana does not goes well with the bacon. In my opionion, a mis-match.

Last came the main highlight of this dinner. This serving can serve up to 2-3 pax, and at a glance, it simply looks magnificent isn't it? It's The Queen Victoria Banquet ($108.50). Consisting of five highlights, Roasted beef (medium-rare as requested) with black pepper sauce, Premium BBQ baby back ribs, Pan Seared Snapper with wasabi mayo sauce, Oven Baked King Prawns with melted Australian cheese, and Sauteed Scallop with garlic & wine sauce. Sticking vertically out of the dish, are Australian-flown green apples, with a chunk of pineapple at the bottom.

A feast for meat-lovers yeah? On the right side, the base consists of roasted potatoes. Whereas for vegetable-lovers, fret not! Left side consists of mixed vegetables! From what I can make out, are green beans, white broccoli, and carrot.

I love their scallop, prawns, and back ribs most! Especially their back ribs, full of bbq sauce, and ribs is soft and sweet! Beef is a little hard to my liking, probably due to medium-rare.

Was told that they reguarly update their menu, either with new items, or improvise on the existing, which I'm totally in cohesion with this idea. Simply to put, this visit has got me to change my view, as compared to my previous visit. Not sure if its due to the recommendation by the PR, or the dishes have been improvised to enhance the taste.. This is definitely a thumbs up now :)
