Osaka Ohsho

I have always loved Japanese food, and so decided to try out this restaurant which looks quite reliable for a nice, and decent meal :) I am already so hungry as it's already nearing 9pm!

Hoshino Coffee

Previously passed by Hoshino Coffee and saw this queue that turned me off.. Not that it has a "snakey" queue like Tim Ho Wan, but I am starving and a 20-30 minutes wait might just kill me!!!

Well, here I am finally... Trying out Hoshino Coffee, and no queue at all around 11 plus in the late morning :)

Paradise Inn

The intention to have Kushinbo for dinner at Suntec was dashed when the initial location was now replaced by some Indian vegeterian store.. Luckily Suntec has no lack of restaurants, especially at the basement!

Took a walk around the fountain area, and settled down at Paradise Inn! Here's what we ordered for 2 pax! Oops.. Before that... Photos are taken with my phone, so quality wise might differ from my usual posts :(

Hot Plate Tofu with Cai Xin and Minced Pork ($10.90). Basically a simple dish of fried tofu, having soft on the inside, and sauce of cai xin and minced pork over the tofu. Of course, with a layer of egg at the base. Similar to our 铁板豆腐, Hotplate Tofu, in most 煮炒 stalls. I love it to go with my rice!

Malaysia, Johor Bahru - BBQ Chicken

Another lunch day at Jusco, AEON, Malaysia. Was in a rush of time, but super duper hungry at the same time... Headed to KFC with the feel of eating fried chicken, and out in less than 2 minutes, because the crew told me they are not opened... DUH!

So I took look around, and in to BBQ Chicken which is opposite KFC.

This was what I had for my lunch quickie... Korean Charbroiled Fried Rice (RM9.90), served with Korean charbroiled chicken, crispy cucumber and juicy tomato. The rice gave me a weird after-taste after my first mouth, but subsequently I grew to like it.. It seems like a taste of mushroom, and every mouth gets tastier :) Their charbroiled chicken is quite tasty too, and meat wasn't too dry at all.

Col-Pop Cocktail Sausage (RM8.00), which is actually succulent chicken sausage. Expect nothing awesome, but their sausage is quite tasty :P

It was pretty empty when I went there, and perhaps the reason why the crew were attentive to the customers. Nevertheless, food is alright, and seems a decent choice to head back there for another meal soon :)

Malaysia, Johor Bahru - 27°C TeaTime

Opposite the outdoor carpark of Aeon (Jusco) in Johor Bahru, Malaysia, lies 2 small cafes. On the left is the popular BlackBall dessert shop, which is available in Singapore too, and a bubbletea shop on the right, which sells food too!

Feeling the need to satisfy my stomach, I strolled to the right side...

After 3-4 hours flight from Singapore to Manila airport, our stomachs are definitely growling with hunger... Time check was around wee morning , 4am. Did a quick scanning around, and decided to have our breakfast right here!

IKEA Tampines

Each time IKEA is mentioned, Food at IKEA just appears instantly in my head, and more distinctly, the swedish meatballs! Used to visit the Tampines outlet regularly for their breakfast, because I thought it was so delicious and cheap.

Thus, for the first time, I went there for dinner, and it was surprisingly a little disappointing from the breakfast I had before... Perhaps this is the difference between breakfast and dinner at IKEA?

Poached Salmon ($7.90) without the peas and corns on request. Salmon was alright but a little overcooked, and potatoes were hard and tasteless even when smeared with the sauce. I have no idea what sauce was that, but it was quite nice though.

Whampoa Food Centre

Stopped by Whampoa Food Centre for dinner after catching a movie at Shaw Plaza. Heard there are a lot of nice food there, similar to our popular Changi Village Market & Food Centre. It wasn't part of the plan, hence we just randomly ordered some food to stomach our hunger, and overall it was quite satisfying :)

We had the Chicken Claypot rice ($6.00) which is big enough to be shared among 2 pax. It is hard to spot such hawkers preparing the food directly with the claypot, as most just cooked it from a wok, and dished it out onto a claypot to make it look nice. What's special is that they have included salted egg at the bottom, which is sufficient to enhance the taste. As I am a disliker for salted fish, I felt that this is not necessary.

Stir well, guys :)

Ordered a small plate of Ngo Hiang (五香) ($5.20) consisting of five items. It used to be my favorite when I was still in primary school, till I started on the Indian Rojak, which I felt as much yummy and nicer than the Chinese version. And I still stick to my preference :P

Two barbequed chicken wings ($2.40). Squeeze out the lime juice, and nothing should stop you from putting it into your mouth!

Accessible through a small slip road down a slope, entering Whampoa Drive by Balestier Road. It may not be easy to spot by the main road, so do keep a lookout if you are just nearby :)
