Sin Hock Heng Teochew Porridge Restaurant

Happy new year to everyone reading this! Hope you guys have already made your new year resolutions, and will do your best to fulfill it, in order to create more space for more resolutions in future years :)

Alright.. Back to what I have to recommend for foodies out there today!

There are a number of teochew porridge stalls in Geylang, and honestly speaking, I was quite unsure in which to try. It was when I saw that this restaurant is quite spacious and bright, and looking at the variety of dishes, I handed my money over to them...

These were our orders that night for 2 pax. I know it's too much for 2 person, but we managed to finish all, and left happily :)

Quite enjoyed my meal, as their gravy are fully absorbed! My favorite items are actually the braised pork belly added with a mild spiciness, and the braised fried beancurd. So yummy!

Some close-up shots...

Overall, we were very satisfied with the meal, except for the porridge, which is a little hard, rather than soft. Crew are friendly, and the total bill comes to SGD 28.

Having 40 years of history, I would not dare to say they serve the best teochew porridge, but certainly a place to satisfy your craving for it. Opening till wee morning, I can foresee this place as one of my my future supper hangouts :)

  1. Usually I tried avoid ordering duck and fish. that is the 2 most expensive items for teochew porridge.
