When I've reached River Safari, it's already time for lunch. Decided to just pop into the chinese restaurant which seems to have a little queue at the entrance, and fully-occupied tables.
Trio Meat Combination ($22.80), with choice of honey char siew, charcoal roasted pork/duck, or rose flavored soya sauce chicken. We left the chicken out, and felt very disappointed with the meat served. It was like tasteless, and the amount of meat served for the price is meager too...
Claypot Beancurd with Crab meat and Prawn ($17.80). Gravy is thick to go with rice, but a little bland. Else, its just an average dish.
Hokkien Five Spice Prawn and Pork roll ($14.80). Been looking forward to this dish, but my excitement slumped drastically from it's peak! Do not expect crispy "ngoh hiang" type. It's too mushy inside, as though it hasn't been fried...
Fragrant Chicken Rice ($2.50). It basically refers to the rice used in chicken rice stalls. Well... taste is there, but not strong enough. My dad is able to cook such rice, and I have to say.. My dad does so much better!
Have no idea why would there be a crowd... Probably nothing else to eat, or haven't been here before? Nonetheless, I don't think I will return again. It might attract foreigners to try out thinking of the different Chinese dialect's delicacies. But money is not worth, and food quality definitely does not justify the yummy food each dialect have.
