The Assembly Ground, is a cafe located in The Cathay building, beside the The Assembly Store which sells multi-label men's fashion.

Used to be a CD-record shop, The Assembly has taken over, providing both retail and dining to shoppers and cafe-ers alike!

The Benjamins (Benjamin Browns Bistro & Bakery)

Forum The Shopping Mall, is a rare visit for me as I seldom ventured to the other far side of Orchard. I have been around the area perhaps less than 5 times, and the only distinct memory was me visiting the Hard Rock Cafe, located just behind Forum.

While I was researching on The Benjamins, I was in a state of confusion as I do not know if Benjamin Browns Bistro & Bakery is the same as The Benjamins. Luckily, I was out of the stressful state, realizing both names shares the same address and unit.

The BetterField

The BetterField sounds like The Battlefield, but it is in no way related to war and stuffs.

A cafe that is opened to public earlier this year, and is quite hidden from the roads as it is situated among the shophouses. But fret not, as there are clear indicators of the shop units within the compound.

Cod Fish Specialty House ~ 鳕鱼之家 ~

I visited Cod Fish Specialty House last year, and indeed it's a long backlog. Please note they have moved to a HDB area at Bukit Batok area.

Cod Fish Specialty House along Choa Chu Kang road is not at all eye-catching, further with it being situated on a hill-like structure, making it even less visible.

There are 2 ways to get up to Cod Fish Specialty House, and one of the way is to climb the aging-metal stairway which isn't too hard to get yourself to the top, or walk along the ascending slope on the left and enter through the paid-carpark.

Slackers' Bar & Cafe

Those whom have been to Changi Business Park, would most likely have seen a big round short-storey tower, which is a theatre or sort of. Well, it is the UE Convention Centre for hosting large-scale seminars, conferences, etc.

I have never been in there, but the rooftop which reside Slackers' Bar & Cafe. From the look of it, Slackers' Bar & Cafe seems to own the entire rooftop, with chairs and tables surrounding the built-up grass patch. While we were there for lunch, the al fresco dining is not opened yet, and I doubt anyone would like to have an outdoor seat if such a hot weather.

Noodle Place ~ 云吞面世家 ~

Was loitering around Orchard Road, and decided to search around for a dinner place. Wanted something simple and found Noodle Place. Having relocated from The Centrepoint, and then now in Orchard Gateway, the popularity does't seem to drop.

Just a street away, it doesn't make quite a difference to diners as long as the standard of the food stay status quo right?

L'ATELIER de Joel Robuchon affiliation with Joël Robuchon, focus more on creativity such as experimenting and crafting innovative dishes.

Despite that, L'ATELIER de Joel Robuchon does have a menu, and not entirely a omakase concept.

Situated just side-by-side, its dark and simplicity of the exterior gives a mystery feel to it, matching the hidden expectations we had when walking in.

Truly Test Kitchen

Have you ever wonder where else in Singapore would you be able to have a fulfilling lunch, yet at affordable price?

I wondered before, and it is really rare to spot such. Truly Test Kitchen opened since 2015 in the premises of Tai Seng, is one of such place, with a total of 5 stalls selling unique food items. Located in a industrial building, and situated at a high floor, you may think this is a crazy move.

With shop space of 3000 square feet, team of Truly Group is able to manage a hawker centre and consistently creating new items and menu. Furthermore, being in a industrial area allow the team to target the industrial workers, promising them a full meal with local taste of food, as well as not burning a hole in their pockets.

Sum Kee Food

I got to know about Sum Kee Food while scrolling through my Instagram, and a salted egg dish caught my attention. When my friend knew about it, the first reaction was a "Must Go!". Thus, it was also conveniently planned for the coming weekend.

Located along the stretch of VivoCity, it is located inside Yeo's Building and its signature is placed proudly from the main road, so it is easy to locate it.

Korea, Seoul

I had a short visit to Korea back in October 2015, slightly before the season turned winter. Hence, I was there with normal jacket to intercept the cold winds, which is sufficient enough for me. There were parts of the day where I simply walked around with a jeans and t-shirt.

Well, I'm a person who rather suffer cold from hot!

Anyway, we took Korea Air, and it has also been some time since I last took a full-fledged carrier. Thus, I was so pleased to see the entertainment TV console right in front of me! The movies are limited yet updated, but do not expect the current movies showing in cinemas. Games wise are ok too, sufficient enough to keep the kids entertained.

Dazzling Cafe ~ 蜜糖吐司專賣店 ~

I heard about the rave for Dazzling Cafe that originated from Taiwan. What Dazzling Cafe famous for, is it's honey toast. But, let's leave that to the later part!

Situated in Capitol Piazza, directly opposite City Hall MRT, it is just a pedestrian crossing away. Dazzling Cafe is located somewhere around the perimeter of Capitol Theatre. I have heard about the queue for approximately 2 hours, and was wondering if this wait is going be worth. Fortunately or not, we were told waiting time is a minimum of an hour, but we can leave our contact and wait to be contacted when there is an available seat. Seems like a good time to walk around and further maxing your hunger level?

UYI ~ Savoury Squids ~

UYI Savoury Squids has only one outlet in Singapore now, but is expecting to expand further in the near future, giving squid-lovers more accessibility to get their teeth biting on!

Located at the basement of Bugis Junction, along with the other food kiosks, it is located just right opposite one of the fast-food giant, KFC.
